About Me
Well, hello! I’m Cassie Murphy, currently based in Rochester, New York. I was raised in the small town suburbs of Southern Maryland, with art at every corner. Since I opened my mouth, I was singing and there was never again silence in my house. I vividly remember singing Adele, 10 years old, at the top of my lungs from my Babysitter’s living room. In 4th grade, I was little Gretl in my local high school’s production of Sound of Music, original I know. Once I was on that stage, it would’ve taken an industrial claw to drag me off it, and oh how nothing has changed.
When I’m not working on my craft, you’ll find me exploring every little bookshop I can find. I’ve always adored throwing myself into the world of a book, give me a genre and I’ll give you a recommendation! I say all the time in another life I was born to be a quaint bookseller in the hills of Scotland. Oh and by the way, if you ever want to talk about Harry Potter analysis and theories I am there in an instant.
I have always loved how theatre can be an avenue for self-expression. I truly feel like myself when I’m performing, creating a fictional world for all to share. My favorite thing about the work I do is the deep connection every person in the room feels to the text and each other, and I can’t wait to connect with you too!
